GiGi & Patty: on the road again. This time we are driving up to Mukilteo, WA - new home of Jennifer, Job, Ashley, and Brooke. A little 1200 mile jaunt to get there.

Wet view from their house. That is Whidbey Island you see out over the water.

First we took the picture at the top of this page, then we walked down to the roof of the Seattle Aquarimum and took these two pictures - first Craig & Patty, then Ashley, Job, Brooke, and Jennifer - in front of the giant ferris wheel.
Going through the aquarimum, we saw lots of fish, rare sharks, and rays of all types.

Ashley and Brooke found a place to sit, on the mythical sea creatures of the Northwest.

The next day we took the ferry from Mukilteo to the south end of Whidbey Island. As we pulled out, we got this view of the Cascades to the Northeast. There are two ferries that travel between Mukilteo and Clinton on Whidbey Island. On the crossing we got this picture of us as the second ferry was passing us.

It is 58 miles from Clinton to Anacortes - at the northern end of the island - and we took the day to drive it. 48 miles into the drive we crossed over Deception Pass. This is a very narrow and deep seperation between Whidbey Island and the mainland. The ocean current is very swift and tides are treaterous in this area. Above is a picture of the bridge, with a people walkway on either side. We walked out to the center, looked down, and got a bit of vertigo - deciding to quickly return to the northern side of the bridge.

It's already New Year's Eve and Patty is busy mixing dips, while the other adults track the latest games on the TV.

Finally midnight arrives. While Jennifer and Patty enjoy their food productions, Job and Craig watch the countdown on Seattle television.

January arrived, and with it Craig and Patty started their drive home by stopping by niece Rhiannon's place in Portland.

Of course GiGi was at the center of things - first with Craig, then with Rhiannon and Patty.
Michael, Rhiannon, and Patty all pose for a candid shot just before we left.
After leaving Portland, the weather turned very foggy in Northern California and our car refused to drive itself in that weather. Once past Redding, CA, however, the car was able to drive the rest of the way home by itself.
